I was struck by this short video clip of Iran (formerly the Persian Empire) before the Islamic Revolution of 1979. The Ayatollah Khomeini brought in the worst aspects of Islam and look where they are now...
Are all religions incompatible with modern, western societies?

Having worked in Saudi for some years all i can say is the Islamic calendar is the same as the religion. 400 years behind ours !!
Without the veil some good looking Iranian women.

Strange how #woke progressive folk in the west are fetishising the hijab so much, considering how in many actual Islamic countries there was such opposition to it til the element of choice was removed.

Nobody fetishises the hijab, Mashed you duffer. They just think that normal, modern woman can choose to wear them, the same way that normal, modern women can choose to wear a nun’s habit.
In countries like Iran women aren’t given the choice.

World Hijab Day, the Womens March and NZ newsreaders and politicians donning it out of "respect" suggests otherwise, Darby.

Our border force turned away an Iranian Christian the other day cos they said Christianity wasn't a peaceful religion. Hahaha.
They've reversed their decision, which is likely cos of the backlash.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there was a massacre in NZ by an Islamophobic psychopath? That might explain why NZ newsreaders and the PM were wearing it? Maybe?
I’ve never heard of World Hijab Day, but then I’m not obsessed with Islam, unlike some on here.

So an appropriate response to an anti-Muslim terrorist attack is to adopt a garment that women in Muslim countries get locked up for NOT wearing?
And you're fooling yourself if you think all Muslim women in the west who wear it are doing it out of choice.

Then when someone challenged is come back with "well, i don't really know about X."
It you just admit to being silly and ignorant or disingenuous.
People, maybe in or out of your sphere of knowledge are fetiishizing the hijab, in all senses of the word, including politically.
